What are the credits for AllHours?
A: AllHours is a virtual meeting/call planner for groups consisting of members in distant time zones. It also allows export of the chosen time to email and upload to a Google Calendar. [BACK TO TOP]
A: First, choose your places. You can do this from the main view by tapping the info button
for a timewheel.
Then you can browse or search in the places view until you’ve found your place. When you tap on the place to select it, you will be returned to the main view and see your new place in the timewheel. You can do this for as many of the three timewheels as you need; each one can have a different city.
Then, just select a time in any of the timewheels and the others will adjust to show you the simultaneous time in the other places, along with an indication in the dial of what time of day it is. That’s it. [BACK TO TOP]
Q: How do I know if the timezone is daylight savings or not?
A: This is handled as an internal function of Apple’s time zone object. For the date you are viewing, the time will be correctly adjusted for daylight savings if necessary. If you ever see this not calculating correctly, please let me know. [BACK TO TOP]
Q: The place I want to use isn’t included.
A: You can always make a new place by entering the Places view by tapping the info button
for any timewheel (if you are starting from the main view), then finding an existing place that has the identical timezone rules as the place you want to add (For instance, if you wanted to add Cupertino, you could base it on San Francisco).
Q: I created a place, but I don’t see it.
A: Check the last tab in the Places view, which is called “My Places”. That is where bookmarked and created places are added to. [BACK TO TOP]
Q: There are only a few places I commonly use, and I don’t want to scroll through the long places lists every time I need to find them.
A: You can bookmark a place and it will appear on the short list in your My Places tab in the Places view. Just browse or search to find the place you want to bookmark, tap the “Bookmark Place” button, and tap the place you want to bookmark. You will then see it in My Places and the next time you need it you can just navigate to the My Places tab and select it there. [BACK TO TOP]
Q: How do I search for a place?
A: Just tap in the search field at the top of the Places view, and enter any part of the name of your place. You’ll be instantly presented with all matches. [BACK TO TOP]
Q: How do I send out an email with the time I found?
A: In the main view, just tap the email button and it will ask you how many of the times you want to include in the email, and then create a preformatted email for you for you to add recipients to. [BACK TO TOP]
Q: How do I upload a time to Google Calendar?
A: In the main view, after selecting a valid time (i.e. a time that is in the future), simple tap the calendar button and you will connect to Google. If you haven’t yet entered any login credentials for Google, you will be prompted to do so. Once you’ve entered valid Google credentials you’ll be able to load your Google Calendar into AllHours and add and delete events. [BACK TO TOP]
Q: I don’t see everything from my Google Calendar, why are some things missing?
A: Since the calendar is being viewed on a mobile platform with a modest memory footprint, only the next 90 days worth of calendar entries starting from the current time are loaded, and the days of the week calendar isn’t shown because they can be seen in the main view. You can upload an event to Google Calendar that is farther out than 90 days, it just won’t appear in AllHour’s Google Calendar view once it refreshes (but you will be able to see it if you go to Google Calendar in your browser). [BACK TO TOP]
Q: What steps have you taken to secure my Google Calendar credentials?
A: The Google Calendar credentials are stored using the secure Keychain Services keychain that Apple offers on the iPhone, which is the best security available using the built-in functions of the iPhone SDK. The credentials are only sent out as connections to Google using the GData API, which sends them as encrypted SSL POSTS, so it should be as secure as working with your Google Calendar yourself using a browser over https. Q: The sun and moon dial/modern dial isn’t my cup of tea!
A: You can change the dial appearance in the preferences, just tap the “?” button in the main view and flip the switch. [BACK TO TOP]
Q: Where can I see that quick start alert that appears when the app runs for the first time?
A: You can request it from the preferences, just tap the “?” button in the main view and tap the appropriate button. [BACK TO TOP]

However, in accepting such obligations, You may act only on Your own behalf and on Your sole responsibility, not on behalf of any other Contributor, and only if You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold each Contributor harmless for any liability incurred by, or claims asserted against, such Contributor by reason of your accepting any such warranty or additional liability.
