That’s a good question – from what I heard from other developers, they are seeing more noise suppression from 2.5-3.5 and past 3.5 starts to suppress real interactions. I am going to continue testing this out over the coming weeks to see if I can get some more concrete insight into this and perhaps discuss it with the Sphinx project once I have some good tests for their testbed (rather than mine), so there may be a later OpenEars version that has defaults that are more similar to the old behavior for each language. In the meantime, to find out the ideal settings for your own app with each language, testing is your friend :) .
