Keep in mind that if you are running RapidEars for extremely long sessions (some apps run it for days), it is probably a good idea to occasionally stop and restart listening so any big buffers from unusually long utterances can be cleaned up.
Does your app respond to low memory conditions (for instance, by stopping listening)? They can also be caused by any number of other events on the device.
