    Hi Halle, thank you for your work on openears. I would like to know if openears can utilize the noise cancellation feature builtin on every iPhone. I found an old post here that mentioned using VOIP or changing audio modes. But that thread concludes with your comment “… it probably wasn’t prudent to reconsider supporting VPIO. I will continue to keep the plan of eventually adding software echo canceling if/when it’s feasible and avoiding VPIO.” So what’s the current status? Will changing audio modes enable noise cancellation now? My app does not play any audio, so actually I don’t mind if my audio playback volume is low like OP mentioned in that old post. Looking forward to your reply.

    You can use different audio modes with OpenEars, take a look at OEPocketsphinxController’s audioMode property. The modes correspond to documented Apple modes. Use of non-default modes isn’t supported by me, but this should get you started with experimenting.
