    platform: iPhone 6+, iOS 8.3

    I am getting a LARGE amount of false positives when using OpenEars. I have read the doc thoroughly and believe that my implementation follows all the recommended guidelines.

    Here’s an example log of a 30 second session of speaking in a silent room.

    I spoke normally for 30 seconds (telling a story) and used the keywords frequently. However, the number of false positives was very high. e.g. I would say “walking” and OE would match with “friggin.” I would also see matches with “dog” when I was saying words that seemed completely unrelated.

    I am hoping that there is something in my logs below that show that I am doing something wrong.

    The OOV (out of vocabulary) problem is an unsolved issue in small-vocabulary speech recognition and is what Rejecto was designed to attempt to reduce. There are frequent threads discussing approaches to reducing false positives with very small vocabularies, so give the search function a look and see if it helps.

    No, I don’t think there is anything wrong with your implementation. It’s expected that if your app takes in a large amount of speech and it has a very small vocabulary which spans words of a few different syllable lengths that you will encounter the OOV problem. All of the empty hypotheses demonstrate that it is doing the right thing most of the time and then occasionally substituting a vocabulary word. I think Rejecto will improve results – keep in mind that you can increase and decrease the Rejecto weighting when you experiment.
