As soon as I start playing music from the iTunes library open ears stops working.
Am I missing a setting or something?

This a known issue where other audio objects change the audio session settings that OpenEars requires in order to work. You can search these forums for the keywords audio, coexistence, and session in order to read more about this and see possible workarounds.
